Sparboe Companies recently announced an agreement to sell their New Hampton, Iowa plant to Deb El Food Products, a New Jersey-based manufacturer with plants in Elizabeth, New Jersey; Thompsonville, New York; and Sherburne, New York. In a press release, Deb El Food Products President and CEO Elliot Gibber said he was excited to welcome the New Hampton plant to a company that he described as “our family’s fourth generation transformational journey in egg products.” Deb El products are sold throughout the United States and the world. The New Hampton plant will continue to produce liquid, frozen and dried egg products.
Accel Group Expansion

An insurance company with Waverly roots is constructing a new headquarters building to accommodate present and future growth.
The Accel Group has outgrown the leased space they presently occupy. Mike Byl, President of The Accel Group, said as the company grew there have been discussions about the best location for their headquarters, and while other communities were considered, ultimately Waverly was chosen.
“At the end of the day, our agency was founded in Waverly and that’s where we believed it should be”, he said.
Network Control Expansion

Network Control, a pioneer and leader in the Telecom Expense Management (TEM) industry, announced that they have inked a deal to move into and renovate property located at 215 20th Street NW in Waverly. The move, which will take place by mid-summer 2019, nearly doubles the company’s workspace in support of continued business growth. Network Control employs 70 team members in Waverly.
Tyson Fresh Meats Announces Expansion of Waterloo Facility

Tyson Foods, Inc. is investing $28 million in its Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc., pork processing facility in Waterloo, Iowa. The multi-million dollar expansion includes the construction of a 56,400-square-foot warehouse and additional production lines. The new facility will create 245 new management and management support jobs in Waterloo.
Geater Machining and Manufacturing Expands in Independence

ground last fall on a 30,000-foot expansion of their building in Independence, Iowa. The expansion will better serve both customers and employees, continuing a tradition of investment in the community. Currently, Geater has 365 employees, and once the expansion is completed a total of at least 50

Menards Cross-Dock Distribution Center

Eau Claire, Wisconsin-based national home-improvement retailer Menards recently completed construction of a new cross-dock distribution center adjacent to the company’s Midwest manufacturing plant near Shell Rock, Iowa, in Butler County. According to Jeff Kolb, executive director for Butler-Grundy Development Alliance, the $4.2 million project is expected to create nearly 40 new jobs for the area. Butler County officials approved a five-year 50 percent property tax rebate as part of the incentive package for the project.
Winnebago Industries has opened a sub-assembly plant in Waverly

Winnebago Industries has opened a sub-assembly plant in Waverly. The facility is located in Waverly's SW Business Park at 1919 8th St. SW and manufactures wire loom assemblies for the company's motorhomes. The Waverly production facility employs 70 full time workers with a capital investment of $1.5 to $2 million.

ConAgra Foods makes consumer snacks marketed under the Snack Pack and Swiss Miss brand names at its Waterloo facility. The expansion included new construction of processing, packaging, warehouse and administrative areas to accommodate the new product, DAVID snack seeds. The plant increased production by 30 percent, adding approximately 99,000 sf to the existing facility.
